Lost Odyssey - complete optional quest guide

Just like any other RPG, Lost Odyssey are filled with optional sidequest that doesn’t directly link to the main storyline but completing them can fetch some awesome stuff that will boost your teams tremendously for the later part of the game. I have outline most of the ones available in the game in a progressive manner so that it is easier to follow through all the way to the end

NAME PLATE QUEST

The first sidequest for the game start early on when you found the name plate in Hypocenter - Highlands of Wohl. Take this Name plate and bring it to the mother who lost her son in the Residental Area Park.

reward: Poison Oils x 2

ENGRAVED RING QUEST

This quest can be triggered once you enter the Monorail Central Station. Just search the floor for a glowing item - it should be an engraved ring. Take this ring to the lost and found counter ( 1st Floor )

reward: Cure All

MISSING HELMET QUEST

You can start once you talked to the guy sitting next to the elevator ( Inside the Tower - after Uhra Great Gate ). He will inform you that someone have lost a helmet and ask you to help find them. Just follow the guard escorting you to the top but don’t follow them when you reach the top, just go back down and ram the pillar on the right side of the elevator to send the helmet tumbling down. Pick it up and return to the guy.

reward: Antidote Brooch

ELEVATOR QUEST

This quest can only be activated when you have finish the whole storyline in Uhra. When you are about to leave, be sure to stop at the guy controlling the panel behind the elevator Great Gate Tower. He will ask you to help him with controlling them. Just enter A.C.B.A.A to complete the puzzle. Now you can go up for the treasure

MOUSE KICKING

This quest is only accessible when you are caught by the Numarian and is trapped in the cage. When you are given the option to ram the door, try to kick the mouse beside one of your cages. Switch to different characters until you have kick the right mouse then switch to the other character to pick up the dropped item ( sorry i couldn’t remember which character is which )

For the rat kicking item just after ‘they live in shells’ dream, you start as Kaim, ram the door switch to Jansen and kick the rat on the left side of the cage, switch to Seth go kick the rat again ( on the right of the cage I think ) - then back to Kaim to pick up the dropped item which is a Light Lens, this has to be done quickly because if you are too slow you will be carried off into the big ship.

RONA’S MISSING DOG

You will meet Rona sitting to the left side of the Palaca Facade. She has lost he dog and wants you to find it. Talk to her to trigger the quest. You will fing her dog in the alley beside Ninn’s Boutique. Return and speak to her again to complete the quest.

LONELY CHUCHU’S QUEST

There are 2 sidequest related to the Lonely Chuchu. The first is playing tag and the 2nd is a hide a seek that will eventually lead to opening the back door to Nalia Item Shop.

LOVE MATCHING QUEST

Just speak to the gondolier infront of the artist Saloon…he will tell you that she’s waiting for her date. Then speak to the next gondolier behind of Nalia Item Shop and tell him about he GF. He will then thank you by getting you the chest across the canal. Track back to the place infront of the artist Salon to receive another reward for all your hard work.

reward: Shine and Mimint Ear

NINN’S BOUTIQUE BACK ROOM

In order to get into Ninn’s Boutique back door. Go talk to Hocke in Artist Saloon, he should pass you the password to access Ninn’s back area.

reward: Seed and first access to the ringmaker

CRYSTAL FRAGMENT QUEST

You will trigger the quest when you speak with the sculptor’s husband in Meia Art Studio. You will only complete this when you find all the 19 Crystal Fragment in Crimson Forest. Come back here with the crystal to receive your reward.

KID’S CLUB QUEST

You will trigger this event the first time you enter the Canal’s Street Bazaar area where you will stumble across these bunch of kid. To complete this quest you need to find 3 items hidden around the area. Once completed, they will give you the reward.

TREASURE HUNT QUEST

You will trigger this event the first time when you are in Mountain Village Tosca. There you will get the “Magic-Powered Locater Lv 1″ which is the inessential tool to start this long sidequest. I have wrote the location of all the clues and the treasures here


KELOLON STATUES QUEST

This is also a side quest found in Village of Tosca. To start, just speak to the girl infront of the Kelolon statues in Tolty’s Inn first floor. She will then ask you to pay your respect to all the statue in the village within 5 minutes time frame. In all, there are 16 Kelolon statues scattered around the village.

Out of the 16, only 3 of them that need your special attention.

Village Main Tower - in front of Tolty’s Inn
there will be a guy blocking the stairs but he should move out of the when when the timer is around 2.00+

Deeno Family House

There is also someone blocking the path into the house but if timed correctly, you can just go straight here once you got the onne in the main tower.

Northern Most Tower - behind Bosso’s House

This tower is also the same, there will be someone blocking the stair but he will move out of the way around the last 20 seconds. That should be more than enough time to climb and touch the final statue.

If done correctly, you will receive 3 Kelolon Hearts, a Slot Seed, a Seal Brocker accessory and Spirit Magic - Gamble for getting a perfect score

THE CROW’S SECRET ITEM

The first time you visited the City of Saman, you will notice a Dandy the Crow trading item at the street corner. Typically he will offer you items for the price of 50G. These are typical items such as Mana Herbs, Healing Medicines, Soul Medicine and Cure All. However, Dandy will also pass you a rare accessory - Awakening Bracelet at random. Make sure you try until you get this accessory before you move on to the experimental staff.

RIORDAN SECRET LEDGER

This quest is a chain of 2 events. First you need to make sure that you get the Secret Ledger from Riordan House. Once you completed the event in Experimental Staff, pass the Secret Ledger to the Investigator in front of the house. He should be waiting inside the house for your reward.

AUCTION HOUSE in SAMAN

After the event in Experimental Staff, the Auction House in City of Saman will open. Various treasure will be auctioned out from time to time. So, if you have missed one or two before this then this is a good time to get them back.

THIEF in SAMAN

You can trigger this once you are back from experimental staff. Just speak to the people arguing in City of Saman main street. After a brief explanation, you are given an option to be sympathetic to the guy being accused as a thief. Agree with him then go to the street stall ( Dandy’s original location ). You should see a sparkling item - return it back to clear Valze’s name.

MARCH of the PENGUIN

When exploring the most northern path in Blizzard Peak you will come across a penguin sitting beside a treasure chest ( warm Vest ). There will be short scene before the penguin start to slide down. Follow it and try to catch it before it goes into it’s nest. If you do, you will get a great accessory - Amulet ( absorb attack )

THIEVING ELMON

One of the monster found in the Ice Gorge areas are the monkey like creatures - Elmon that love to steal stuff - usually it will try to swipe your accessories and then it will run away.

The side quest starts when you first meet them at their den located in the right most path in Ice Gorge. There are looking for their missing Elmon Crown - which should be sitting in the chest just above the boss area. Once you get the crown, you can go back to the den to face off these creatures.

If these Elmon have stolen something from you, then winning the battle will get them all back. However, it is recommended that you let one of the Elmon steal the Elmon Crown before you kill them off. ( you can also let them steal it in normal battle ) - If you have let that happened, you can actually fight these Elmon again, together with their leader. This is good because the leader carry the Mind Bangle accessory which can teach you the MP Max Up 2 skills.

DELIVERY BOY

When you are in Gohtza’s Low Town, go talk to the 2 Khent Soldiers sitting beside the entrance to the Abandon Apartment. They will asked you to deliver a letter to one of the guard in Gates of Khent ( selectable from world map ). Once you complete the task, the guard will give you the Obsidian Spirit Band as well as a treasure chest containing the Awakening Bracelet.

GOOD INVESTMENT

When you visited the Abandon Apartment area - you will come across a secret casino on the 10th floor. There you will meet a gambler that need some financial help. At first glance you should shy away as any good RPG player would know right? Wrong!

This is actually a mini game that can reward you tons of cash in return. What you need is at least 10K, so i suggest you don’t spend it first when you arrive in Gohtza. Instead give all away to the gambler - 1000 x 10 times. Just go in and out until you reach the eleventh time.

On the eleventh time, the gambler will informed you that he has hit the jackpot and all of your money have multiply 5 times. So if you have pass him 10K before, you will get 50K in return for being a good samaritan. As you can see above, I didn’t have 10K but i still manage to acquire quite a big stash. ;-)

FISHING in the SEWER

When you were exploring the Back Alley Sewers with Seth and Tolten, you will come across 3 ponds after the jumping platform. This is easiest to miss because your objective is to empty the tank to proceed to the next area.

However, with a bit of work you will be rewarded with the All Curse magic. First you need to open and close the last 2 gates. Then open the first gate and close again. Lastly, open the middle gate to half filled the pool. Now, the item should float next to the walkway

STEAL the CRYSTAL FRAGMENT

This is an optional item that most people would just ignore because of the Magic Beast Boss. In this boss battle you will be given an option to kill the boss normally or by triggering the crane event. Either way, you should remember to steal the valuable accessory it have -Crystal Fragment before you decide to kill him.

FEEDING the HUNGRY

This quest can be trigger by talking to the Trouble Bodonov in Gohtzan Refugee Camp. He will ask you to get him some ration from the lady in the center on the camp.

Just run as quickly to the Lady to get the ration. Don’t worry if you failed because you can try as many times until you succeed. The reward for this charity would be critical for another sidequest which is “Pipot’s Special Seed Quest

POSTMAN

This quest can be trigger by talking to the Anxious Looking Padolaf, he want you to pass a letter to his mom in Gohtza Low Town area. She will be waiting at the store counter on the northeast side of the map. You will get the Black Belt accessory for your effort.

DINOSAUR HUNTING

This quest can be trigger by talking to Gohtza Refugee Trader Ghude in the Storage Tent. He will ask you to help him with some monster trouble. Don Laploss is the boss of the Gyaplos that roam the area. The trader wants you to kill Don and bring back his claw for proof.

Just go back to the frozen track until you encounter a group of 4 Gyaplos in battle. In order for Don Laploss to appear, you will have to let one of the monster to summons ( Cry ) some of his comrades into battle. Kill them off leaving 1 left until the Don appear. If you are victorious then bring the claw back for your rewards.

reward: Sacred Torch ( Cooke’s staff ) + Sacred Ring

POSTMAN 2

This quest can be trigger by talking to the Uhran Soldier infront of the great gate. He will then ask you to deliver a letter to a person in Uhra Castle Station. I would definately recommend you to complete this for one of the best accessories in the game

reward: Freedom Armband ( Slot +5 skill )

MISSING PERSON

This quest can be trigger by talking to the person on the bridge outside of the Castle Front Gate. He will then passed you the missing person poster. Take the poster and show it to the person found in the Castle Station. Return to the person on the bridge for your reward.

GIFT FROM the COUNCILMAN

You can get some free rings components when you talk to the Councilman Ohzan sitting in the Residential Area

GONGORA’s MAGIC CAPSULE

This quest need some leg work before you can proceed. To trigger the quest, talk to the researcher in the Building Material Warehouse. He will then explain the task needed to be done which is locating the 3 Magic Capsule in Gongora’s Mansion.

The first 2 is easy to locate, one is in the machine on the right path after the entrance. The 2nd is hidden between the pipes beside the left elevator.

The 3rd is a bit tough because -first, you need to break the Royal Seal in Gongora’s Mansion area to access his Secret Lab. Once the Secret Lab event completed, you should find the last capsule glowing on the floor in the lab. Once completed, return to the researcher and he will pass your reward.

MUSIC MAN 1

Now that you have Sed in the team, go City of Saman Tavern. There you can fix the broken jukebox for some cool accessory.

HANDY MAN 2

While you are still in Saman, talk to the little boy in the main street to trigger an event. Sed will start fixing the broken vehicle and as a reward - bunch of ring components

You can start this quest when Sed is in your team. Visit the Grand Staff Construction Base ans speak to Technician Orth infront of the magic device. He is having some trouble with the device and requesting assistance. Sed will do his stuff and as a result you will get some ring components.

reward: Living Brass x 6

HANDY MAN 4

This quest is only accessible once Sed is in your team. Just visit Gohtza Refugee Camp and talk to Dissatisfied Ryzel and he will asked you to hel repair 6 magic engine scattered in the camp.

The last one is a bit tricky. It’s hidden behind the last tent on the left. Just approach the spot and Sed will do the rest.

WAR MOMENTO

You can trigger this quest bt first talking to the Khent Soldier found in Low Town. He will the tell about his quest to find a war momento from the Wohl War.

First you need to travel back to Uhra. At the main gate, speak to the guard and he will informed you that Barkus might have something from the war.

Go to Barkus Store and look at the sword on display. There will be an event and you will get the sword.

When you first visited, Gohtza Refugee Camp, you will stumble across Padolaf. As it turn out, he wants you to deliver a letter to his Mom in Low Town. His mom should be waiting infront of the store counter in the northeast side of Low Town. She will pass you some present for you effort!

MAGIC RESEARCH HELPER

When you revisit Grand Staff Construction Base, be sure to go and speak to the Researcher in Temporary Laboratory. He will asked you to help him with his magic energy research. He will then passed you 4 Magic Gauge to be place in 4 different spot

The first would be in Ipsilon Mountain - the place overlooking the Grand Staff

The last is a bit further into the game storyline. The spot is located in Ruins of the Eastern Tribe - Hanging Corridor - the platform with the heal and save point

    @ Dragoneye, Uhm..i Highly Doubt you have every skill,because otherwise your comment about tolten would be irrelevant.You DO know you can learn Royal equipment so you can let kaim equip tolten’s weapons ? ANd you DO know you can learn skills from Tolten right ?? YOur comment doesnt make much sense to me…But About the storyline…Thats one of the best things about the game..the story.And the storyline and Kaim Not learning Badass skills ( like you say it ) are two different things,learning skills has Nothing to do with a story.
