We finally sat down and finish all the Final Fantasy 12 Mob Hunt sidequest. Some of the later Mob are very tough and require persistance to locate them.The last part of the Mob Hunt Location Guide will cover Level 6 Mob and higher. * Prepare yourself for a very, very, very long battle. The good thing about him is that you can run away as many time as you want and his HP will not regenerate. The downside to it, the more you run the stronger it gets and there will be an indicator on the screen indicating the times you’ve fought him. To be honest, we ran twice and the battle is insane especially the last few of his HP bars. There is no rational in fighting him but don’t let us stop you from doing so. Just clear all your schedule for a few hours before attempting this battle

Love the site, best i’ve seen, had a quick question about Gilgamesh, when you fight him you can steal the genji armor. well i didn’t know that when i beat him in the first battle, my question being can i steal the set from him in the 2nd battle or should i load up an old save and throw away 8 hours of game play and go get the genji armor by facing him for the first time again?!

sure…actually the seer location ( unknown ) is on the lowest floor of the subterra. To go to subterra take the elevator in ridorona ( infront of the save crystal ), instead of going up you go down.
Each floor there are 4 rooms, and in each room you have to fill the pedestal with orb ( obtain for killing monster in the subterra ). You have to fill them until it lights up. Do this on all 3 floor and the location of the seer will be open up.
Take the elevator ( after you have save off course! ) to the last floor and battle him and his minions. Good Luck!

hey, i was wondering about that wyrm in the desert..everytime i try to fight it, it shows the wyrm in the background but syas that the desert sand is to strong to pass…what hunt is that, or how do i get in there to fight that beast!?!?

that\’s the earth tyrant – an optional boss
you can only access the location after the event in Tomb Of Raithwall.
- To start the quest – go to Westgate of Rabanastre talk to the Banga can\’t remember his name.
- Then go to central area talk to the guy near the fountain.
- Next talk to the crouching guy near the Bangaa – they are around the downtown storehouse
- you will then need to find the Dynast-Cactoid ( in Dalmasca Westersand eastern area smallest area on the map- just check the castus to get item )
- Lastly talk to th eoriginal NPC who gave you the mission then he will pass you the item needed to stop the sandstorm
- Finally you can go and fight the Earth Tyrant

so i beat gilgamesh and you know how after you beat him there is a sword stuck in the ground is there a way to get that sword cuz i left and gilgamesh came back and took it. are you suppose to equip something in order to get it out of the ground are is it there for that funny cut scene. thanks

hey thnx for the help and all but how do you beat yiazmat? i can’t do it i tried over and over again and the most i do is take out 2-3 health bars and he gets pissed off and kills me with that death strike move… i usually don’t have trouble with battles at all all my ppl are lv 99 except ashe she’s still at lv.92. is there something i need to do before i fight him in order to weaken him more?

as for deathgaze dude. talk to the traveler after flying somewhere (either in a private airship or a aerodrome airship) either way when you fly somewhere talk to him until he says he saw deathgaze again and then fly on an airship from the aerodrome (don’t take the strahl) then choose a private cabin where you can rest until the trip is over and a cutscene happens and you wake up ppl ask if you’ll fight it or not (and don’t be a chicken just fight it. he’s not hard my lil’ brother wouldn’t fight him for some reason.) but after you choose to fight him you go out on the deck and you fight him and you also get a trophy for him in the sky pirates den…have fun

I have uploaded the nabudis secret store location map above…u can’t see the seller but if u walk very close to the edge of the wall, u can talk to him.
As for Yiazmat, there is not special strategy for me…i used the basic setup –
tanker ( Vaan – Ragnarok )
equip all the best stuff on ths guy and i set gambit to just attack!

I cast all the buff on all characters and i used alot of bravery and one of the technics that reduce defense ( Expose ). I also set gambit to heal most of status effects ( Yiazmat like to dish out status attack ) Sometimes i also use berserk on the tanker ( especially the tanker )
Other might recommend reverse but it doesn’t seem to work for me so i didn’t use it…but u might give a try…As the rest of the gambit would be heal revive – include magic and items…and make sure u have a lot of items before hand….
It took me 5 hours and 3 tries before i manage to defeat him ( barely )….since it would get stronger everytime you run away…try to limit it to 3! – Equip best weapons if you got any…and forget about gun and bows…and utilised all your team member and rotate when they die ( just make sure to quickly revive them too )

The great crystal can be a pain witout a proper map. Officially there are no map for this area but…sephirosuy have produce a superb handmade map and guide location

where is that lashac halcyon in paramina rift? i can’t find him either. as for me and yiazmat i don’t run from him at all cuz i kno he gets stronger but the problem is that i just can’t beat him cuz i have crappy equipment on. i like using sword and sheild w/ my ppl and all so i have them with the deathbringer and the kaiser sheild but vaan has the demon sheild which i like alot. and for armor i got the dragon mail i need better stuff and i beat zodiac last night and i dunno where to get the zodiac escutcheon either i just can’t get good enough equipment. my main party is vaan/balthier/basch. i use them regularly and i beat everything else in the game but yiazmat now so i’m stuck here.

where is that lashac halcyon in paramina rift?
Leshach Entite is in Paramina Rift, it will appear when there is snowstorm in the area – try checking the west section before Feywood or central North section…
As for Yiazmat, maybe you can try to find Ragnarok ( Ixion hunt reward ) / Excalibur ( in the Great Crystal ) / Ultima ( Pharos at Ridorana, Subterra B2F – in one of the fake wall ) / Zodiac spear ( if u did manage 2 get it – i miss it )
To be honest it’s about persistance, u just have to keep pounding the big fella… i did in 4 hours ( barely )…there are some recommended gambit setup to fighting Yiazmat…i will post it here once i found where i read it from.
Anyhow, goodluck on Yiazmat! if u do beat him just post ur strategy here!

I noticed that if you enter the westernsands through the Giza Plains your the chances of there being a sandstorm are higher.

if ur level main team lvl is above 75 – it shouldn’t be a major concern…fafnir should be a breeze…just use bubble pelt to double ur HP and u should be fine…
and it’s ok to have a lower lvl for ur secondary team…u’ll just use them to fill in the gap when ur main team dies…just don’t use them to fight fafnir!

The Red chocobos can be found in the area next to Jahara ( Ozmone Plains )…you need to chained kill 6 chocobos and zone in and out. He has a 1/256 chance of showing, so expect it to take a while…
Personally, I never encounter this rare chocobo even after doing the above steps…but from the source that we got…the above step is valid…if it works, do drop us the confirmation..

well the easiest way is to just give him an Elixir,but you probably knew that(since the game tells you)
I myself havent tried fighting it,but i supposed reflect would work.Try reverse and hit him with curaja.

I Found A way of killing it!, the Magick Pot, one way is to use “1000 needles” on it or “gill throw” with was kinda a waist seing how it hasent dropped anything yet

Hey all,im having troubles in the pharos place, my party is in early 50s, exept vaan lvl 63. and im at the end of the game , and all i have left is rank 7 hunts , but the ones in the pharos i herd their are 4lvls or places i just have 1unlocked..and i go in their monsters just keep appearin non stop i need to get ixion but i have no idea where to go for him since the monsters at the first place unlocked are lvl 58 average or 56 and their non stop. ixion will usually appear on the 2nd floor…just run around for a while and he will appear…we recommend that u lvl up some more cause the wave of enemies will keep spawning and coming at ya!
As for Ash Wyrm…yes it drops the Moon Ring…u just have to keep at it…do u have the dragoon’s monograph unlocked? sometimes it helps too…and maybe instead of the ash wyrm in Mosphoran Highwaste, why not try the ones in The Great Crystal…even this diesn’t guarantee the item…

sorry to inform you that Omega will only come alive after u have acquire all Espers and finish all Mob Hunt…yes! including Yiazmat..
As for the treasure, it’s random…make sure u wear the accessory that increase rare item …and count ur lucky stars…if not just reset and do it again.

As for the Zodiac Spears, u can claim ur prize in nabudis…the area where u fought chaos..and it wll also appear in Treasure in Henne Mines Phase 2 Dig ( very..very rare ) – u just have to try u luck there…hahaha

Hi, I can’t find the Behemoth king. I already killed the regular behemoths nearby and I think I got all the enemies in the 2 areas before the door to giruvegan. But I may have killed the behemoths before I finished everything in the edge of reason….. is that bad? Do I need to reload the game so I clear everything BEFORE killing the regular behemoths?

I read on shotgunnova’s FFXII walkthrough (gamefaqs.com) that if the “#-chain” letters flash white instead of the usual greenish color that a rare foe is about to appear. In the course of killing the stuff in the ice field of clearsight and the edge of reason, I saw it happen a few times but it didn’t seem to signify anything. Can you confirm this or do you have other opinions on what it means? Thanks!

yes, u have to kill all enemies including the bahemoth. no need to reload th egame …just go out from th e2 maps and re-enter and repeat th ekilling process…make sure u get them all…it’s hard to see but go slow and u’ll get to meet the “King”..
and yes! when the # chain will flash when there is a rare monster nearby…some of the rare monster only appera when u complete certain criteria…and chaining is one of them..

Bravery and Faith will only be available once u reach a certain clan level..not sure which one…will check on this…till then try doing as much Mob Hunts, Bestiary, optional Bosses and rare hunts as possible to increase ur clan rank

Cantide, you need to be a Brave Companion clan hunt rank before you can get both Bravery and Faith from the clan provisioner in the Bazaar. That’s the 6th level up from Moppet. Expensive spells but so worth it

I went for 2treasures in the great crystal in order to get some sword i forgot its name, but its kind of good better than ultima, so i went for 2treasures and i got 1Gil..in each treasure…, i didnt bother to look for the others through the maps , cuz i was getting Killed by the lvl 60 monsters

the shadowseer is location on the last floor ( not visible on the map )…it is after Abysall…u have to unlock all the floor before u can go there…unlocking meaning all the pedestals must be light up.
Once u do that, at the lift there will an option to go to shodowseers location
As for the 2 magic, I am sure that it is in Murthu Bazaar ( Bangaa seller )…it should be there cause u have surpasses the requirements. – the store is not in Rabanastre normal store…if u use the moogles transporter u can see the bazaar as one of the options. i will ask around if ur case is a glitch?

there is no guarantee that the treasure will be the sword or any of the rare items. sometimes u just have to be lucky. we tried a few times before obtaining it. hahaha the monsters is tough and annoying…but look at the bright side – very fast way to farm gils/items and not to mention leveling up..:)

u really cannot compare these two because they are 2 different equipments
Brave suit is a light armor – with an added bravery status
Zodiac Escuthcheon is a shield
both are one of the strongest in their class…it is good to have them both
…but for the sake of an argument..pick Brave Suit due to the bravery status effect.

about the magick pot you can kill it if you have an elixir. it’s not aggresive unless you initiate the attack. I suggest you turn off your gambits and go near it. When you go near it, it will say that it wanted an elixir. So, instead of using elixir to yourself you can give it to him buy pressing L2 or R2 (not sure) but you can try until it points to the magick pot. After doing that it will run because it already had an elixir then that’s the time you can attack it and it will not counter attack at all. Good luck on drops!!!

you can see the top left area, there a 2 floating platform! ( area after the save crystal )- face the platform ( 2nd floor – there is a place where u can see the crystal from a far – slightly 45 degrees )…the floor is not visible…but it will be once u walk on it – remember the invisible green path that u took to get here? same here!

wearing the diamond bracelet doesn’t guarantee success…sometimes it take more than twice to get those rare items..don’t worry most of us experience the same thing as you…but the bracelet really enhance your percentage of getting those elusive rare items.
As for Elixir, most of them are acquired thru Hunts mission and boss battle but u can buy them by selling ur loot, here is the recipe;

I just went to try and fight fafnir i had a bet with my friend that i wont last 5min with my lvl which is lvl 50-55 average exept vaan lvl 64 , so i try and i kill it within 15-20min , never thought it would be that easy…(Ultima blade Breserk Bravery = 9999Dmg ) going for behamoth king now. Btw i want to do some other hunts but i somehow need a key, which is to be dropped in the phone cost but i cant seem to find it, i have done a hunt befor which says a key have dropped and it will wash away on shore far far away, but ive searched all shores of phone cost on the south side and others, nothing so far, any clues?

as for the key- check the newly uploaded map above. Actually the key is located East from the Gate Crystal….it’s behind some rock… a man is sitting beside it…u can see it glowing on the ground!

oniee, the shield would only appear once in the game. But for the brave suit, we still got the chance to get it some where. According to what I read. I successfully grabbed the shield. But my one hand weapon damn poor. What weapon do you recommended?!
As for the Wyrmhero Blade. It gives us Bravery-auto and Faith-auto, once we equiped that. At first I thought this blade just so-so. But after trying it out. It’s really a awesome blade. Just one thing, it heals monster that absorb Holy. T.T

I am offically pissed right now, I have spent an hour and 41min playing to get trounsel, i started for the first item which is hell gate flame, i have chained 109 chains. dont ask me how but i did it , and all i got was prime belts and fire crystals, …thats just VERY Anooying, im i supposed to suffer like this? bcuz i need 6hell flames, and ive spent all this time trying to get only 1, hell i got 3 Fransica axes , o.o im i doing something wrong? i have theft cuffs on…, i steal , poach or kill…and nothing…i need help for this item loot!!!

Hi oniee. Thanks for your pointer. I left the whole area try go farm some black orbs. I came back through the Giruvegan teleport crystal so I had to cut through the Edge of Reason. Then I exited the Ice Field of Clearsight and came back and started to hack away. I crisscrossed through the entire area twice to make sure I didn’t leave any snakes around. In the course of it I chained and got the blinking white letters twice but thought nothing of it because I didn’t see anything… but…
I proceeded to kill off all the enemies in the Edge of Reason and this time tried to leave the behemoths for last. I still couldn’t see the Behemoth King so I figured I must have missed SOMETHING. Of course I found nothing. The entire 2 areas were clean. I went back out to the area beyond the Ice Field of Clearsight (I forgot the name of it, but it’s where the Mirror Knights are) and came back in. This time I came across those darn vegetable heads (the guys that inflict status effects and run really fast!). The entire field was clear except for them so after I got them, I went back to redo all of the Edge of Reason and STILL no mark! I went BACK to the Ice Field of Clearsight and saw yet ANOTHER set of the 5 vegetable heads…. it was really pretty odd to see them all there yet again. This time when I went back to the Edge of reason, Behemoth King was standing there waiting for me, but not at the Gate of Earth entrance, but around the middle of the area in between the 3 alters.
Anyway, it was just a long battle, not too bad at level 63 Vaan and below for the rest of the party with Bubble, but the key seemed to be to spread out in a triangle surrounding him so that his -ra and -ga spells and White Breath (Demon shield helps to absorb Darkra) couldn’t target more than one member at a time.
Never did find out what he was weak to but it didn’t seem worth the trouble of burning MP when he was going to be immune to magick half the time. Now, on to Gilgamesh

i got 7monographs and today ive played for 3hours chainin 503 of those Cerberus ive managed to poach 3 hell gate flames and 2 dropped , but then i growed tired so i just closed and im gonna try again later tonight , so the first item for the trounsel is almost done =) lots of more to go , After the trounsel ill Defeat behamoth king And other remainin hunts, and then go for the hell wyrm, and finally get all final weapons, and then go for Remaining Espers Ultima , Zodiack , and another one i forgot its name, And then head for Yizamat , So far i have everything kind of planned =P And this site is making it all easy so far.

aziz, the pharos subterra should be ok at that level. I started around that level too. But will say this: when you get off the elevator, do not just stand there, keep moving or else the entire inner ring’s enemies will flock and you will have to deal with all of the Frogs and Horse enemies crowding around you which is almost instant death, especially with the spell casting slowdown of the PS2. Once you get through the initial bunch of enemies, it isn’t that bad at all.
If you are iffy about it, cast Bubble and Protect. Mistmare will use spells, so Shell would be helpful too. Have Ardor/Firaga handy to make quick history of those Mistmares. I’m not sure what the frog guys are weak to. If you get to the 2nd floor of subterra (Umbra), careful what you cast… the deadbones use Reflectga often. Anyway if you don’t want to kill the ring’s enemies just keep running – they don’t earn you any orbs anyway.
Oh and I realized this the hard way… when you kill an enemy in the rooms and you get a black orb, let it fly away. Watch which direction it floats towards and try to make the match on your map. Clear out the other 3 rooms and go to the room where all the individual orbs are flying toward. You will find the Massive Black Orb on every floor – and it will contain all of the ones that you let fly away TIMES 3! It’s the only sane way to farm the orbs you need to get to the Seer quickly… I’m still in the Umbra. I think it’s easier to farm the orbs in the first floor though. If you kill all the ring enemies and go back to the save point, they will respawn so time your gameplay carefully

No luck yet on the lvl99 choc… however I have a new question. I’ve been in the subterra 2nd floor (Umbra) and know that this is the location of the Ultima sword and that you need the diamond armlet to aquire it. I only can find one treasure chest on this floor and it is located through the southwest passage leading towards the southeast middle area of the two. I recieved 2gil when I touched the chest and now can’t get it to reappear even if I completely leave the floor??? Is this the right spot can anyone help me with this? Also Bonga that info is pretty sweet regarding the orbs but while I was looking for this sword I did it the long way myself 1 by 1.

ghost, I think you need to reclear the 2 areas. I doubt the king will be there again waiting for you without refulfilling the requirement – i think it’s similar to fafnir where you had to follow the blizzard in paramina rift otherwise you won’t see him in the designated area. not to be restating the obvious again but in my hours of frustration looking for the behemoth king I bet you there is some enemy lying around in either of the two areas that was left unkilled. I cleared the field to the point of what I thought was completion a FEW times and still didn’t see him. see my big long post about my search for the King on 12/27 @ 3:33.

Thanks for the info , but id like to know where in thecerobi steppi?, and the B2F what does B stand for is it on the first floor?. and in lushu mines , i just like to know the name of the area and if its east ,west and so on =). im working so far on trounsel right now trying to get the 2nd item for the gem steels which is the starletite =/ i have one so far in my loot i dont know how i got it but so far no luck in findin others =), ill look for that gun later on in the game and after getting gem steels ill finish up the first floor.

I have a bit of a problem i need 3 Scarletite , and to get them i need to kill Emeralditan in the deadlands but they dont seem to drop it , id like to know which monograph shd i have? , and if i would want to chain them how?, theirs only 2spots they appear in , and when i kill them i need to wait a while till they re-apear =/ any ideas?

defeted Yiazmat… took 5 tries and 3hrs….all at lv99 vaan, ash, basch, Ultima Blade, Ragnarok, and that cresent shaped axe, i woulda used the Save the Queen, but some how iit wasnt as strong. One time along the way, my cousin told me to use his gameshark….ppl DO NOT USE THE INFINITE HEALTH CHEAT WIT GAMESHARK TO FACE YIAZMAT….i was down to 5 bars of life left till his death, i had let the game play itself, cause i didnt feel like sitting there to watch the whole thing. I came back to pull protect off of him and when i targeted him manualy…..HIS LIFE COMPLETLY REFILLED….. i had to leave the room b4 i threw somthin….. but in the end, i beat him by my OWN SKILL, game shark isnt worth it on this game…… but now…. i need somthing else to do, i have all the Espers, killed all the Marks, You wouldnt have a list of all the Optional bosses would u? I killed the Earth Tyrant, and the Hell Wyrm (obviously), by the way, i got to the Earth Tyrant from this site too, THANKS GUYS! I need somthin else to do i dont want this game to be boring…

Rare Item Location in Cerobbi Steppe ( equip Diamond Armlet! )
Ribbon and Fomalhaut can be found in the Crossfield section – just nort from the save crystal
Dragon Whisker can be found in the 2nd section – coming from Port Balfonheim
* Important Note
All of this items are random. Just try a couple of time if u don’t get on your first…and yes! diamond armlet really helps!
As for the B1F ( B doesn’t stand for anything…just refer to the last 2 digits )…Subterra consist of 4 floors…the last floor is not visible on the map and it is only for the Mob Hunt battle.
The Monographs for other than the listed ones would fall under Hunter’s ( I think )

Omega has 12,000,000 HP? Then why is the battle quick when I used sephirosuy’s strategy? Just in case you’ll ask, it’s Reverse and Decoy…I dealt about 15000 damage every time all 3 characters attack, and it goes down quick…his HP is I think even lower than Behemoth King’s. I think it’s just 500,000.

Well im not sure but from where ive read in alot of places or herd their all the same.
Yizamat: 50 million HP
Hell wyrm: 8500000 HP
Omega: 10 million HP
=p And somehow yesterday at 5am in the morning i was staying up so late, but …somehow….just somehow =p I GOT MY TROUNSEL !!! =p!!! its amazing and i got it in less then a week =P its so worth it btw and easy to get exept for the scarlitite and hell-gate-flames, Since vaan now hits 8500 normal im gonna go clear the pharos now then do the rest of my hunts and try to get the gun , bcuz balfier is somehow the same lvl but the weakest =(. Btw in trounsel if u killed most of the rare hunts ur basicly in a big problem…., rare hunts is the key to trounsel.

U can start the fishing minigame after u have visited draklor lab. Basically there are 5 fishing area u can access to;
1. Downstream ( access once u reach Port Balfonheim )
2. Midstream ( access once u reach Port Balfonheim )
3. Upstream ( access once u reach Port Balfonheim )
4. Hidden Shoals
5. Den of the River Lord
To get the rod go to the Village in Dalmasca Eastersand and talk to Ruksel. Then go to Port Balfonheim ( Aerodome area ) and talk to the fishing enthusiast twice…run around without exiting the area ( basicaly u need to get out of frame with the fishing enthusiast…
some ppl suggest going in front of the Aerodome with entering….wait for a few seconds then go back to the fishing enthusiast location to get the rod…take the rod and go back to Ruksel to initiate the fishing game mini game…

ive tried so far 6times at cerobi steppi and i have dimond on vaan only and the other party memebers are outisde, their are about 5-6 treasures in the crossfield..which one is it?, either way im getting knot of rusts and some money, =) i know i shd keep trying but is it randomly appearing in one of those 6chests? or is it a specific chest?

what’s the best place to grind?
all my guys are lvl 60ish and i’d like to level up before attempting some of the harder hunts, so i just need a place where foes die easily and give lots of exp. thanks.

Well from my experience , In the pharos cast Bereserk and barevery on vaan , and he shd kill each monster their within 2-3 hits, their are lots of monsters but they give hell alot of good XP their are from lvl 45-65 an average of 1500Xp each , or if u want an easy place equip a double Xp Accesory and go to the Deadlands , each of the monsters would give u 900xp as an average which u double , their fast and easy , from my Experience these 2places shd be good.

I just completed the pharos yesterday , Defeated shadowsweer , he was a pain in the ass srsly…but in the end i got him down, and somehow i cant access the unknown again its only once, and while going to save…ixion poped out =) so finished 2hunts , all i have is left is Hell wyrm to get yizamat , Behamoth king and Pylraster. and thanks for the Fishing info gonna go get the minigame after obtaining the gun, But ive allready taken alot of treasures i wonder if they appear again?.

Im Really haveing a hard time with the Behemoth King, Ive watched your video up top and I mostly did all the things you did, i got it down to about 1:6 Hp, and I even got a Black Hole on my quicking and it didnt do a thing to it, I sat there for an hour and a half trying to kill it and nothing has worked My main party is now all level 91, and you beat it al what? higher 70’s? what should i equip, because the stuff im useing isnt working at all right now

For behemoth king, my strategy was really to always either Attack with weapon or use Firaga when he was immune. Nothing special. It helps to spread out your party so he can only target 1 member at a time. Other than that… Bubble belt, and curaga as necessary. Had to conserve as much MP as possible for the end. When his HP bar was down to just a smidge and wasn’t really visible anymore I cut him a quickening chain to kill him. Is it just taking you a really long time? How is he killing your party? How far along do you get?

I used regular weapons for behemoth king, btw. Save the Queen sword, Great Axe/Demon Shield and Golden Axe/Demon Shield. Everyone wore Maximillians.

Ok, ill get him down to 1/2 life and he will just start going psyco on me, like useing white breath all the time and thus, “stop” is on my poeple so i need to retreat and take out panello and get them all fixed, then when i come back hes healed most of the way, i do this meny times once i got him down to about dead did a quickaning and didnt kill him, took all my people out in 2 hits each.ahh! i have all deathbringers and demon shields for all of them same with the Save the queens, I just dont know what im doing wrong. mabey ill try spreding out more. When he was immune i used thunderga. ill try your way. Thanks

White breath is an ice attack i think.So if you have anything to protect you against it,use it.
AS soon as you see the message on the screen go to the menu and equip a shield or armor that reduces the damage done by that attack.
And why don’t you set everyone’s gambits to ally status stop=chronos i can”t believe i forgot the whole name.
or equip at least one character with power armlets so stop doesn’t affect him/her.

This should get u to 4 dots,
First time i battled Yiazmat i set gambits so that every 1 had a specific role,i found the problem with this is that you had to do things manually most of the time and the healer even the support healer usually ran out of mana real quick, wich ended in an obvious loss specially if ur reserve party is crap and u dont have massive stocks of hi-ether or elixirs.(i only had 10 of each)
So the second time i went in with a (me,myself and i)gambit,in wich i set all the party members with the same gambits in the same order, (self) in nearly everything exept arise (obviously) and status effects,i had 99 chronos tears,99 gold needles and 99 remedies. i also speeded up the battle to fast (wich i truly recommend) something i forgot to do first time.i equiped my party with the best equipment i had,for weapons 1 had tournesol,and the rest golden axe and greataxe (should have bought another golden axe),shields zodiac and aegis,chest maximillians,head circlet and 2 white masks (yes thats the best i have) ,2 with bubble belts and 1 with power armlet,all have 12 full gambit slots wich are : 1- (any,arise) 2-ally: status reflect : dispelga (exept for the 1 without the bubble belt i put (self,bubble) instead 3- (self 60 % hp,curaga) 4-( ally : status stop,chronos tear),any 5-( ally : staus petrify, golden needle) 6-( ally: status sap,remedy),7- (self,haste) 8- (self,shell) 9- (self,protect) 10- (self,bravery)11- (ally,esuna) 12- (Foe:any,attack).i suppose u can simply use (any) instead of specifying the status ,i didnt. i never needed anyone from the reserve party to come in,and i didnt run..oh and my party r all lvl 92 slightly below that shouldnt be a problem u should have all the support an enhacement licenses by now too.
Use hi-ether if ur MP is dramatically low, topping it with another normal ether wouldnt harm 2 and if u run out of hi ethers but still have ethers(cause u only have a few like me),pop in a few ethers every now and then to someone u feel might soon be very low on mana. thats the quick way, the long and recommended way (due to the amount of mana ul get) would be going to equip,changing the power armlet to pheasant netsuke and making that player throw hi-ethers and ethers aroung hoping yiazmat dosent cast stop (the player should be bubbled before doing so) then when ur satisfied with everyones mana go back and equip the power armlet again cause (stop) could ruin everything,elixirs should only be used towards the end of the battle (below 10 dots) and only if the players mp situation is hopeless ,unless u have tons of them..Hi ethers,ethers,elixirs,switching party leaders and expose (if u want) should be the only thing to do manually for now. they should do the rest, i wouldnt recommend using mists right now unless u have loads of elixirs and high ethers..and dont panic if theres only 1 player standing happend a few times with me when he goes death strike berzerk, 1 should hopefully arise the other before he acctualy has the chance to wipe all 3.Unless u decide to manually come up with something..however, when hes at 4 dots and below i think megalixir followed by mists followed by megalexir and so on until u have about 2 or 1 left should help,the reason is because he starts unleashing attacks in an insane way, that will probably wipe all 3 before u actually attack due to all the support and healing gambits that come first. someone told me he also could cast faith didnt with me so dispel him if he does u already have the dispelga gambit if he casts reflect on all 3 towards the end of the battle so that shouldnt be a problem.
well this worked with me,it most likely will with you.and remember 4 dots and below i think you should go fully manual.

What i did was,i set the 60%hp curaja gambit to two of my characters.And since the character used as the tank always has full MP, i manually had the two healers use syphon on the tank to replenish their MP.
But i don’t recommend this towards the end of the battle since you probably won’t get a chance to do it.

Yiazmat is only hard after you get him down to like ten or so bars.But his last five is when he gets really hard.
And to unlock him you must defeat the the King Behemoth. And i think you have to defeat the espers too.
For Excalibur you can use this map.

It should be below the “map two” message.equip one character preferably the leader with a Diamond Armlet and open the chest.You will know when you’ve found it when the chest reappears as soon as you open it(you don’t have to leave)so pay attention.
Ok Grand Armors are a rare drop from the rare hunt “Helvinak” you have to kill six oversouls for them to appear.
And Maximilians are found in the Necrohol of Nabudis secret shop.

you need to get the ageworn key by examining the windmill No. 10 in cerobbi steppes if you have the dragon scale (key item).
cantide – Stop affected my only very rarely – i think it has to do with the vitality stat of your character whether it is going to be susceptible to Stop status, but I think your characters are higher level than mine anyway. In any case, you could always wear power armlet and cast bubble instead. Like I said, separate your team into a triangle surrounding behemoth king. he is big and doing this might take away any multiple target spells like curaja because team members are out of range but avoiding white breath for 2 out of 3 people is a huge plus in the last 15% of the battle when he goes nuts with white breath practically every turn. If your character dies and another person Arises the KO char too late, the char will revive next to its savior. Make sure you switch them to party leader and walk them back to their corner before the king unleashes another white breath. I did a ton of party leader switching just walking them around to keep in my triangle formation. There was also a lot of manual override to keep my party focused on attacking rather than anything else high on the gambit list – in the end, you want to keep your strongest people attacking. Heck, arise is faster and more effeticve (full health!) than constantly casting curative spells for partial regain. If you ever get down to 1 live char, switch in a couple others to revive the other 2 off the screen and then switch back (in triangle formation, you should be able to switch freely because the king won’t be targetting multiple people). Hope it helps…
starky – Maximillian I believe is sold by the secret shop in the necrohol. I remember it being pretty expensive too. Check oniee’s map (below the yiazmat entry entry on this page) for location.

Seperate note – Gilgamesh… It was strange. I had thief cuffs on and still only got Genji gloves and no shield in the first encounter. I got the armor and the helm in the 2nd but it doens’t seem like any of it is really that great. The gloves could be useful with a good sword, maybe. What is all the hype about? And Gilgamesh had no more to steal so I didn’t get the shield… Is it worth it to go back? And the masamune reward sword is only 93 attack?!? A little disappointed

Here’s my party when I beat Yiazmat, sure is long, took 5-7 hours, can’t count, too long. VAAN = Zodiac Spear, Maximillian, Circlet, Ribbon; ASHE = Excalibur, Maximillian, Circlet, Bubble Belt; BASCH = Ultima Blade, Maximillian, Circlet, Bubble Belt…Here are the gambits:
1) Ally: HP 2) Self: MP 3) Ally: status=KO – Arise (or Phoenix Down)
4) Self – Protect
5) Self – Shell
6) Self – Bubble (for Vaan only)
6) Self – Haste (gambit no. 7 for Vaan and #6 for those who have Bubble Belt)
7) Foe: highest max HP – Attack
I think that’s it if I don’t miss out anything.

the genji’s stuff is very rare cause u can only get it from gilgamesh…so better get it when u have the chance…still not the best available in the game…but the glove does help in helping u do multiple hits…

Ok something that’s been on my mind lately,and it’s about Yiazmat.I noticed something about his attacks,but i didn’t have a chance to confirm, but it did happen alot.
I think he switches the priorities for the effects of his attacks.
For example,at the begining of the fight his white breath attack would always inflict stop on at least one character,while his death strike would often miss.but by the end of the battle his white breath rarely inflicted anyhting,while his death strike would always kill one of my characters.
PS:Omega has fallen too.And i beat him without the Decoy/Reverse trick.

So i fought Yiazmat again ( from a previous save) just to see if i could come up with something else too,an i found that its extreemly rare (never happend with me,so it probably wouldnt even accure) that he inflicts stop on 3 players at once if ur lvls r high (although i wouldnt know if that would b the case too if ur lvls were not that high).Therefore, there is no real need for the power armlet,instead equip a third bubble belt, that should make things easier, and put a gambit of ur preference instead of (self,bubble). i put (self,faith) under the (self,haste) gambit.

wow! ur characters are above average…i think with nice equipments and gambit, you will do more than fine…:)
Reddas or any NPC can be helpful in normal battle but against bosses or some of the hard hunts, they are useless cause you’ll end up baby sitting them most of the time?!
But if you think you can manage these NPC then by all means use them! 4 is better than 3…
There is no special characters set required, as for me i’ve used all of them because i leveled my characters evenly…but it’s all up to you to decide which is your fav and strongest ones..the only tips from me would be…try to use highest MP characters cause it will be a loooooong battle…don’t want you to redo because ur out of MP and MP items…and reverse is good in conserving MP..

Like Oniee said,you’ll only waste time casting bubble,protect,and pretty much keeping him alive, since he is only level 55 i doubt he’ll be of any use.
Your main party too maybe a little underleveled.Omega is probably gonna be hitting you for around six to seven thousand with each hit,making the battle harder than it needs to be,unless you’re looking for a challenge.

I;m trying to get Grand Armor, so do i have to chain then kill helvenik in order to get it? or does it take many tries to get it?

Grand Armor is a rare drop from a rare monster Helvinek at the Necrohol of Nabudis…it’s random and very rare…might need a few tries..
U max out ur level..hehehe..always good to be prepare..;)

i’ve spent sth around 7 hours on Yiazmat, but when i got 2 his half of his last bar he killed me, arghhhhhhhh
and my main party are on lvl 73-74, my reserve 65-67

i’m going to cast haste, decoy and berserk on Ashe with that she’ll cause damage around 60,000 since the masumune does combos alot.
Vaan & Fran
Sage’s ring
Magepower Sishak
Wind Breaker(50% less damage of wind attacks(cyclone))
Range weapons so Yiamat won’t inflict damage unless Ashe falls.
Reserve members are used to runaway right?
They’ll all bubble betl equiped.

it looked like ur team is under leveled, good to have ur team at 80 , both ur 1st and 2nd team…at least if ur 1st team get wipe out then u have ur 2nd team to cover ur back…
As u have experience, 7 hours is a long time to battle this big boy…doesn’t hurt to be extra prepare…and yes! the last few HP bar is tough! Yiazmat will dish tons of attack at a higher rate..don’t be affraid to change gambit setting halfway thru the battle to accomodate these changes…
It’s good to give ur main attacker the highest stats weapons, armor and accessories. Make sure your support team have a solid gambit to make sure u don’t get wipe out…Expose, Brave, Haste, Reverse and Dummy is some good magic to use too…
Just make sure to split ur team and don’t stay close by cause you don’t want to get wipe out all together…use ur 2nd team carefully and revive and switch characters regularly. Don’t leave any dead characters in ur list…try to revive and switch them back…
And don’t be affraid to run away…but don’t do it more than 3 times…cause Yiazmat will be a lot harder then!
Last tips, best weapons close or range, best armors and accessories and always remember ” the best defense is offence “

ok i kind adjusted the levels and now i am on the roblon hunt he is not the problem though i can knock him out in no time but the skeltones are the problem here i tried putin beresk and hast on my tanks to go crazy and kill them all but they just keep spawnin and the end they kill me !! its just annoyin how can i avoid them ..? and if u know any good wepones which i can buy plz tell cauze i think my deathbringers are gettin week in this part of the game…

hahahaha…the best way is to go slow…try to stay as far as possible from roblon…he won’t move if u don’t get close to him…and stay stationary if you don’t want the skeleton to keep respawning…and try to use range weapons…
since the skeleton are undead, use any kind of white magic like curaga if u have any…or use chronos’s tears/remedy to wipe them out….don’t worry these skeletons have a limit to their spawning…try to take as many then slowly work urself toward Roblon ( SE )
If u insist in close range fight, just send a tanker to do the attacking – casting decoy will make sure Roblon doesn’t attack anyone else…try to set 1 person gambit to attack other enemies and another one to support the tanker…once u have everything under control…slip another character to help ur tanker..
But always make sure that u don’t go all out with all of ur 3 members early on unless ur over level…or u got things covered. Just be carefull with his magic attack – Fear ( drain MP ) and Tri attack ( high damage with slow effect )…
I’m not sure, where ur now in the game but just remember to equipt at least 1 character with range weapons and stay out of range…just do some monster clearing ( skeletons )… then go kick Roblon arse to kingdom come!

lol it seems worth the try but to tell u the truth my range wepons sucks i got this bow (dnt remeber the name) this is the strongest i have it has 89 power its like the death bringer but without the KO and i dnt know why i feel over leveld but i spend like days levelin up well i cant judge though cauze am not really expert in this game but u can tell me if i need more levelin up or not : i finished the Stilshrine of Miriam and i am on my way to archades, i got 3 espers the third is ZALERA i think and am about like from 35-57 lvels am still workin on it and when i was in hunt rank II i was able to finish some of rank 5 it was fun for a while to feel strong lol so tell me how am doin and if u got any suggestion about the wepons …

i assume ur main characters are in the 50 range…then ur at the right level…u can use other range weapons like crossbow ( have good bolts that have SAP / Blind effects ) , guns are also good since most range weapons ignore defense. Staff is also good for your support ( yeah i know…it lame, but its good for casting magic )
Just bare in mind Roblon is immune to most effects except for SAP, Blind and Slow…he also weak against Water…try to attack with this in mind….
If u still cannot defeat him, i suggest you continue to archades…there u can buy better weapons and armor…
Ashe, some of the mob can be a breeze even if they are in higher level class…but some of them really need some grinding to defeat them especially level V and above…

well i was able to defeat him he didnt take 10 sec thnx to ur strategy and btw to tell u the truth i finished all lv5 when i was at lv2 to lv3 huunts i cant admit it was easy but it was certinly fun and about the wepons i decide to wait a little while till there is better and thnx again

I spent a lot of time opening the damn gates in the great crystal in Giruvegan trying to find the Zodiac Escutcheon but when I got there, there was no treasure! In fact there was nothing, just an empty platform! Can anybody tell me what happened?

the chest location is correct…but it appear at random..i guess u were unlucky the first time…the trick is to go back a few screens 2-3 so that the game can reset the treasure chest…do this till u get it to appear…
getting the chest to appear is one thing, actually getting Zodiac is another ( cause u may get Brave Suit instead )…just make sure u wear a diamond armlet to increase the odds…if u don’t get it…repeat the above steps till u get it!
The other place u can get Zodiac is in Barheim Passage…it has a very low percentage of appearing…so good luck!

kind of a random question:
im having trouble getting the yagyu darkblade, i know its dropped by that bomb dude in the lhusu mines, but ive killed him 20-30 times and i aint got spunk – ive tried wearing the diamond armlet, ive tried the thieves cuffs, ive tried stealing but all i get is a mallet – can someone help me, am i doing something wrong? – cause im about to toss my controller through my television

the Yagyu Darkblade is a drop item by the rare monster Bombshell…it’s not a steal item so that is why u get the mallet. Diamond armlet only usefull if ur opening chest…
there’s no trick…just luck…and ru sure it’s the rare monster?

another question:
whats the deal with the wyrm’s nest in the dalmasca westersand – everytime i go there it says “a fierce sandstorm halts your advance” or something along those lines – is there anything in this area of the westersand? is there a way to unlock it somehow? let me me oniee, you seem to have all the answers.

I assume u have open the subterra map…the subterra consist of 4 floor ( the last floor is where is bad boy reside ) – Pneumbra > Umbra > Abysaal > Unknown

Each of the subterra has 4 rooms and in each room there are orb pedestal ( right at the entrance )…you will need to fill these pedestals until it glows with the orb acquired when u killed a monster.
Here’s the black orb required to open up each floor pedestal…
Pneumbra
NW – 9
SW – 6
NE – 18
SE – 3
Umbra
NW – 9
SW – 18
NE – 15
SE – 15
Abysall
NW – 21
SW – 12
NE – 15
SE – 27
* once all pedestal is light up, the final floor ( unknown ) will be unlocked…i suggest you save and then go to fight Shadowseers.
** The B3F ( abysall ) is where you will encounter Ixion…just equip anything that can reduce lightning attack…he’s not that hard but the battle can be really annoying with those skeletons around..
*** The monsters on each floor are powerfull ( hallway ) and they come in packs…so make sure u are well prepared. I suggest you stay near a door or lift incase you need a quick exit…

The Ultima Blade is not a Bazaar item so there\’s no recipe for it. It is a rare treasure found in the Great Crystal. Since there is no map for GCrystal – check out the hand made map from Sephirosuy below

* check the location for Ultima on the map…the location contain 2 chest on top of each other…Ultima is in the 2nd chest. If you do not get it, just go back abt 2-3 screen for the chest to respawn then retry. It might take a few tries before you will get this excelent sword- ( diamond armlet is a must – it raises the odd of getting great treasure items from chests )
Ultima can also be found in B2F subterra ( Umbra ) – inner of North-East section. this is also a rare treasure and you might have to try a few times before u get it.
– check the comments earlier in this post for more Ultima Sword help –
As for Bogey – it is a monster found in Zertinan Cavern. I will try to post the picture if i can…

hey this website is great there are things even I didn’t know about lol. I have a problem with the seer hunt, it’s the last hunt I have and i’m been searching the pharos from top to bottom for hours everyday, but now I just figured out that I have to fill all the altars with black orbs on the Penumbra, Umbra and Abyssal floors, but my problem is I only have access to the penumbra floor…I’ve beaten the boss on the penumbra floor and filled all the altars, and beat Ixion on that floor but still i’m stuck on penumbra, did I miss anything?

thanks oniee – im actually working on getting all the top weapons right now – however im having a bit of trouble locating the leshach halycon for the durandal – i know its supposed to be dropped/stolen from the leshach entite in the paramina rift during a snow storm – but i cant even find the dude to steal it from – any ideas?

Once you make the snowstorm appear you can find the leshach entite in Icebound Flow or Head of the silverflow (Paramina Rift). To make the snowstorm appear you should try reentering paramina rift by the entrance of the Feywood (that is if you have already killed Fafnir, if not getting a snowstorm is easy).

are you sure you have light up all the pedestals? There will be a burst of light and the rooms will be light up if you done it correctly….once you do that it should open up the next floor…

from afar it looked like it has only one chest but at close inspection there is 2…they are stack on top of each other…just push X on the 1st opened chest and u should be able to open the 2nd one…if there is none…just go back 3 screens and reopen the chest…do this till u get ultima…hope this help

Ops! i think we both got it wrong? The Ultima Blade is a bazaar item and not a treasure in crystal grande…I got it mix up with Excalibur…and these treasure doesn’t require u to beat “Ultima Esper” to obtain them.

frankly, just use ur most best weapons – if u have beaten all the espers, hunts and rare monster sidequests – Venat will be a breeze…IMHO the bosses in FF12 is on the easy side…

hahaha…Hell Wyrm is like a warm up battle for the upcoming Yiazmat…and yes! 50K doesn’t warrant the 2 hours but in return u get a glimpse of how Yiazmat will be?

is there any reason why reverse would not work against omega? i cast reverse and decoy on balthier and when he’s hit it still does damage instead of curing him – anyone know why? otherwise, does anyone have any alternate ways of defeating omega, he seems to be too quick for me. thanks again.

Personally US Omega is much easier than the Japanese version…and it has less HP too..but don’t take him lightly cause he’s a bad ass boss that will hit you 5000 plus each round..
so the general rule is simple, focus his attack to 1 single character through out the battle…and try to attack him with non elementals weapons! As for Reverse, all hits will heal instead of damaging – are you sure you cast it correctly? even after the character dies…
3 of your favourite technics would be decoy, reverse and haste.
- Ally: Any ( but try to focus on the decoyed character ) any healing based gambit
- Ally: Any – Arise
- Ally: – ( 1 character ) Decoy
- Ally: – ( 1 character ) Reverse
- Foe: Party member’s target – Attack
* Hermes Shoes would greatly increase your speed / bubble pelt is good too ( just make sure your characters HP exceed the 5000K mark )
** Try casting all the effects before hand.
*** forget about magic / quickening – take too long and it reduces ur MP to zero?!

i took omega down – took me a bit but i figured it out – time for the maps – oniee, you seriously rock, both at this game and at life in general – on another note, this game is bad ass – im a pretty big final fantasy fan, but ive never really been a “completist” until this game came around. however, i gotta get the zodiac spear and i opened the chests so im pretty f’ed there. either way this game is damn good – again, thanks for all your help oniee – and im not done so im sure i’ll be back here asking questions rather soon. peace!

see im back sooner than i thought – as for the maps: if i have the entire area showing but some of it is dark (meaning i havent actually walked in that) but i have the entire map (not purchased from a moogle) should i still buy it from the moogle? should i go to the shaded areas and walk around? im confused as to what they consider a map “complete.” ive searched my maps and i have everything as far as i can see except some areas are still dark.

well arsenal, nothing solid have been announced so far by Square-Enix about the XIII. Recent interview in a Japanese magazine, Motome Toriyama did mention new movie and a playable demo sometime in the future thru the PSN…and im guessing during an event like GDC/TGS/E3 ( whatever they call it now? )
I’m speculating that the final game might be release as early as December this year in Japan and Spring 2008 in the States. How do i know this? I don’t, but i think they would like to do something big for the Final Fantasy 20th anniversary. I know i would!
As for the rest of the XIII series, we would not see anything untill 2008.
P.S – as for the near future, we have 3 classic remake for the psp – FF1 / FF2 and FF Tactics. Don’t forget about FFVII game for the psp.

i know the bangaas in phon coast, but there are a group of people in archades (the place you can only get to with a sandalwood chop) and they say if you go and tell them your stories of hunting they will make it worth you while – i was wondering if they gave out anything of interest.

ahhh! actually the event is a sidequest that will eventually reward you with a Hand Bomb weapon. Personally i didn’t go all the way..but if u r a perfectionist then
u need to complete the quest by matching the right NPC to get the sandalwood chop. You also need to complete the Cockatrice quest. Once you have done both come and back to the terrace and you will see a Giant Cockatrice…and will get the hand bomb weapon for your trouble.

yeah i got that – spoke to the cockatrice and he gave me the tumulus – however, in that section there are a group of people and one dude says “oh, so youre the real hunter of rare game, not those bangaas we put in the phon coast” or something along those lines. then he says “if you come back here and tell us about your hunts, we’ll make it worth your while” – i know youre supposed to give the trophies to the bangaas in the phon coast but these guys say to come back to them for an extra something i guess.

Hello!!!! Great FF XII information site. I have a question. I am currently making a scorpion tail. I have all the loots except for the charged gizzard from the thunder bugs in henne mines. I have been there countless times but could not located the thunder bugs. Can anyone direct me where i can find the thunder bugs? I am almost at the end of the game where all i have to do is to go to the bahamut. Am i too far off the story line that i cannot find the thuinder bugs anymore? Can anyone help me? personally i uses Ultima, Tournesol, and Ragnarok…don\’t worry 2-3 hits will not even dent Yiazmat haha…do you have any other gr8 weapons? if you have Zodiac then by all means use it on Yiazmat…

** don’t worry about the weapons so much because it’s an overall stats that counts…weapons, armor, accessories, gambit and strategy…you might have the strongest weapons but if don’t use proper strategy u’ll get ur arse kicked for sure!

Mob Hunt
There are 45 plus 1 ( including Hell Wyrm ) mob hunt in the game and Yiazmat being the last one. Hell Wyrm is an optional boss but in order to unlock Yiazmat you need to kill Hell Wyrm first.
Rare Hunt
there are 80 rare hunt in the game and only 30 on them will drop trophies ( 1 time only enemies )
Great Crystal Tips
I’m not sure which map you are reffering to but in this case i will used sephirosuy version.

based on the map there are 3 main marker on the map:
X – XIX – these roman numbers are the warp/marker pedestal
Z, H….. – these are treasure marker – check map for the treasure dedicated to the lettering
Gemini, Zodiac… the zodiac name is reffering to the gate ( light blue marker ) and it’s locking switch. Most of these gate is locked, so u have to unlock it first. There are various route available based on how you unlocked them. Some of the lock have a timer, once u open the lock you have to reach the door in the allocated time or else you have to redo the whole process.
As you can see there are 4 map, u will be using the warp ( red route – 1 way ) to travel between them.
* if you open a treasure chest and the marked treasure is not there…just go back a 3-4 circle ( each circle represent 1 screens ) to reset the chest. Try this method untill you get the treasure.
** open as much gate ( most economical route ) as possible. Why? because im sure you will come back here again to get Ultima Esper and fight the last optional boss Omega.
*** Run! if you are struggling to fight some of the monster here…just run and heal..since the only save crystal available here is on MAP 4 before Ultima Esper…

I don’t think so…just make sure u enter the correct codes and u should be ok…Personally i don’t recommend codes but in reality no one really have the time to do all those hard to get RPG quest items

Thanks!!! I have located the tunderbugs and bought the scorpion tail. By the way i am very puzzled about how to get the final esper zodiark. The 1st half of its hp is easy to get down to, but after that it is almost immune to physical attacks and magic attacks. Does the physical immunity wears off? Coz my whole party was wiped off and the physical immunity for zodiark is still on. Any kind of help will be appreciated. Thanks!!!

The key to defeating Zodiak is speed and power. As you can see, his HP is not that high. The next step is to understand his moves and behavior.
When his HP < 50% – Evasion up
When his HP < 20% – immune to all physical attack
Dispelled – immune to magic attack
Strategy
- Black Masks and Demon Shields to absorb dark magic-will not prevent death or blind
- Speed up ur characters / boost attack power
- Heal and Revive always
- Watch for Darkja ( 50% death ) and Piercing Graviga ( halves character HP )
- Timming – just when he\’s about at 20% HP level unleash ur quikening
- Shemhazai – Soul Purge is also good here ( personally i didn\’t try this )
- His physical immunity will down only for a few seconds ( use magic )
- Magic immunity will wear off over time ( best time to strike him )
- He will cast reflect on himself so be carefull

one of his traits is that he will cast Barrier Change – what it does is – it changes elemental weakness…it will absord Holy instead of Dark…sorry not mentioning this earlier…
like i said before, try to damage him as fast as possible because he has a lot of attack moves – active and passive that will prolong the battle..and u will be at a disadvantage when he does that.

Yes! he’s tough but not impossible..level 80 is ok because some have beat him at lower level. My suggestion, don’t use bow, guns or staff ( unless ur using he/she for support )…just concentrate on using ur best weapons ( swords, spear etc )…don’t forget to use best armour and accessories too…
decoy, reverse is the best arsenal to use…including brave and haste…just be careful when you reach at the end ( his last few HP bar )…he will get nasty pretty quick…just make sure you have your back up team ready…he can pretty much wipe ur whole team in an instant!
You can however run away but try to limit it to 1-2 times…cause he will even tougher each time u run…if you have the time try and beat him in one go…

Archaeoaevis – Zertinan Cave….personally i like poach rather than steal…for me i try to reduce their HP to the lowest point then i will either steal or poach…always work for me.

I suggest you use all your best weapons ( swords/spears/ninja sword etc ) and try not to use bow or gun on Yiazmat…unless your are using these characters for support. Do you have other great weapons like Ragnarok or Zodiac Spear?
Make sure you have a high HP – so you can sustained a few blows before doing some healing. If you are using reverse, just make sure that you don’t accidentally heal your team mates.Use Decoy/Brave/Haste on your strongest character and let him/her focus on Yiazmat ( just attack )…let ur 2nd and 3rd characters do the support…if you use reverse correctly, you don’t even have to heal. Cast decoy on 1 character – in this case ur main attacker ( it will shift Yiazmat attack on him/her )
Genji Gloves and Ninja sword can be good due to the multiple hits – assuming ur doing 7-9K per hits.
Be sure to have Arise/phoenix down ready because Yiazmat tend to cast Deathstrike to 1 character at random..i prefer to use Pdown rather than Arise cause it will take some time to charge. He will always cast Stop/Sap/Petrify…be ready for them too. He will also cast a strong wind attack – you can reduce it by using a windbraker.
Fighting Yiazmat is like an endurance race..it’s long, hard and very tiring but you can’t afford to slip up even once…just be careful when he’s at the last few HP bars because he will be tougher, faster and stronger.
P.S- The other option is to change ur battle from real time to turnbase…it will give you time to plan ur moves..

To be honest, rare drop is purely on luck! some people get it after a few tries..just keep trying until you get it…there’s no other way to get these item.

First of all i would like to say i defeated one tough dog fafnir. Second i would like to help people know how to defeat him. You do not need a high level to defeat him.
First i used Vaan: level 57- Bubble belt- Maxmillion armour- masamune
Second Fran: Saggitaris bow- level 56- sage ring- maxmillion armour
Lastly Ashe: Save the Queen- level 57- Bubble belt- maxmillion armour
2 attackers and 1 healer only that should do
Healers Gambit:
Arise: ko
Curaga: 50% hp below
Echo herbs: silence
Esuna: Sleep
CHronos tears: stop
Attacker gambit still the same
First reposition your character that the healer wouldn’t take any damage from its terrifying ice breath. Second when he uses shock to the healer quickly run for your life. Just keep attacking and reviving, i suggest you have your healer fran because she can use range attack and she can heal and attack if necessary. Once you defeat him. Report back to reji. It took me 15 mins to defeat him so good luck
Reji will then heal all of the wounded refugee with her veira herb and you will receive assasin arrows 1 teleport stone and 7000 gil for that quest.

gr8 job on fafnir…and out of the 4 u mention ixion and shadowseer should be a straight forward battle…bahemoth king is similar with fafnir…just use the same setup and you should do fine…
I think Pylaster is the hardest of the 4…just make sure to equipt well.

in the king behemoth one. The monster keeps on respawning so how can i stop this and i keep killing but it is hard to tell if there are monsters left. By the way i defeat the pylaster he is much harder then fafnir because he does 6000 with rake when he doubles his level. I just can’t stand a chance but when he had about 80000 hp i used mist and it took away his life. Thank god. So how you stop the monster from respawning

there is no way to stop the monster from respawning..but it will take a while for them to do it…so trying making sure you are quick to kill them off…personally i did a zig-zag movement from side to side so that i kill them off in 1 go…

one way to get ixion to appear is to just use the elevator up and down to penumbra untils there aren’t any enemys there, then just go round and round and he will appear

subterra orb will be drop by monster when u kill them. It’s all random but since it will use the same black orb – try collecting them upstairs rather than in the subterra area due to the strong monsters in the area
Congrats on Zodiak – he’s not that hard if you hit him hard and fast – the trick is to kill him before he can cast full barrier
Yiazmat damage depends on ur Level, Stats, Equipment and Status – so each player will have a different experience…

You can’t evade Yiazmat deathstrike…did you use decoy ( it can divert most of Yiazmat attack on 1 particular character ).Reverse should be ok too cause it will save you time to heal…
Just maintain ur gambit setup/equipments and attack pattern ( the one u use on Hell Wyrm ) and you should be fine…

Omega is an optional boss and he can be found in Crystal Grande. But before you can fight him, u need to complete all hunts including Yiazmat and acquire all esper…check sephirosuy crystal grande map for his location

hey oniee, am a bit of confused i went to get some armors and wepons from great crystal to complete my strong wepons(Ragnarok,ultima blade,excalibar,..etc) the problem is i got the excalibur which is gr8 but i went to get the Zodiac Escutcheon and the brave suit i was suprised not to find a treasure !! which was so depressin i tried several of times but no luck !! so wt should i do ..

Most of the rare chest is purely based on luck, but u can however improve ur odds by wearing diamond armlet ( it will increase ur chance of getting rare treasure )….if u don’t get ur desired treasure – just let the chest re-spawn by going through about 2-3 screens away from the chest location..try as many times till u get it…yea it’s frustating but that’s the only way
don’t worry about selling these rare loots cause it will contribute to the bazaar items…and some of the bazaar item will only be unlock when u sell them…check below for the sword recipe ( probably the longest bazaar recipe in the game )

First of all absolutely love the site! I had a question for you, i was wanting your opinion on the golden axe which is 110 a/p which is so far the highest a/p for a weapon i have yet to find, but what other weapons are there that would prove benefitial to have. Also is there any better armor that the maximiillian or the magepower shishak and demon sheild? and info on what you believe to be the best weapons and armory in the game would be aprecciated greatly. and just to let you know my main 3 char. are at level 77 and the rest at 36 (lol) girls are weak..can’t help it…and i’ve completed most hunts besides pylraster and the seer(which i’m in the middle of)Yiazmat and Omega come after i believe and i have 12 espers(any info on how the fight goes on the 13th?)… lol i think thats all i had questions on and btw thanks for everything

Important tips
having the strongest weapons/armor/accessories is not enough. A good combination of them and good gambit setup is always the best option. Having high Lvl also help but not always the case, especially for higher mob hunt, optional bosses and optional esper. Experiment with your team setup and eventually you will find the best settings that works well with your game style. Good Luck!

no you can’t…the best strategy is to anticipate his attack and revive the dead character as fast as possible…try using decoy to take most of the damage…

As for the red chocobos – u need to chain at least 6 chocobos before the entrance to Land Of The Garif …he will appear at the same place

Equip the character that is doing the stealing with Thief’s Cuffs
and here’s is when you should steal from Gilgamesh;
1st encounter
Genji Shield ( 4th form ) and Genji Glove ( final form )
2nd encounter
Genji Helmet and Genji Armor ( last 2 form )
the best tip is to steal everytime he changes form…this way u can’t really miss anything…if you didn’t get it, i suggest u reset and redo the battle since this is the only time u can get these items…

hi again can u guys help with the bottle minigame i really dont get it and for the treasure in the henne mines ( the good ones ribbon especially) which ones do u or dont u need diamond gaulets 4 and does the ribbon chest respawn. i more thing i got the zodiac shiled from the passage, then went to get the 1 from the great crystal, found it tried to kill omga and died so i lost it, when i came back it werent there, i went back 3 screens, reloaded it didn’t come back how come?

You get it by selling
4x snake skin, which can be obtained from the wild snake in Toam Hills, Giza Plain Dry.
2x Serpent Eye, which can be obtained by chaining the basilisks in The Feywood
1x High Arcana, which can be obtained by selling 10x arcana and 1x soul of thamasa
^^I suggest you get the empyreal soul and serpentarius at the same time so you only need 3 (or two if you got the serpentarius from obtaining all the espers)

Yes…u can get all the colored bottle without Matamune…these bootles are actually clues to get the rod…

Ixion can be found on either floor…i found mine on the 2nd…just run around the circle area for a while and he should appear..but beware Ixion will have a higher HP if you fight him on Penumbra or Umbra…
Pheonix 2nd encounter is very early on…don’t worry…it’s part of the puzzle…he will be back with the other bosses fought earlier when u go to the ??? floor
I have posted a map for the key in this very post….just scroll up to the beginning of the comment page and you should see a “special request section”
As for the magic pot – he’s a tough cookie to crack, personally i just ran away when i meet them…but if ur the adventurous type then you might want to use these tips
disable all gambit and feed him an elixir…once he gets it…it will be easier to kill him..just don’t forget to steal th elixir back from him before u dealt the final blow…just make sure u clear all the other monster before u do fight him…
If ur really in need of LP ( which i doubt ) u can use magic attacks like scathe or non elementals magic on him…or you can also cast telekinesis or traveler technics…or you can use this tips from one of our readers “dave”
The first:
Wait until your event logs says “Magick pot clamours for an elixir!†then use an elixir on the magick pot. Your event log will then say “The magick pot is estatic!†or something like that. The pot will then continue hopping around like a mad beast. Now I recommend stealing back the elixir you gave it, then you just hit it with physical attacks since it is no longer immune.
The second:
Gil toss. I hope you’re rich as hell.
The third:
Traveler, 1000 needles. If you plan on dieing, this would be the strategy that I would tell you to use.

Pebbles are junk item put in by SE to annoy us…LoL..as far as i know there is no real use for peebles..
Magic Pot are exclusive monster found only in the Pharos Subterra area. They give little XP but tons in LP…

There are 2 ways to get Zodiac Spear;
1. The easiest way to get it is by not! opening these chest
- Chest infront of Dalan House – Lowtown Rabanastre
- Chest in Rabanastre Palace – SE corner of cellar
- Chest in Nalbina Dungeon – the room where you get all your stuff back
- 16 chest in the SE are of Phon Coast
You can get the Zodiac Spear right after you beat King Bomb, North of
the Save Crystal in Salikawood.
2. The near impossible method is by opening the random cheat in Henne Mines Special Charter ( the odds is like 1:10,000 )

the 1st fight is just a teaser….but at lvl 50 you should be ok…as for zodiac shield – it can be found at either
Crystal Grande, check map here ( random between brave suit ) or;

When her HP < 70%, u will be slap with these limitation
HP decrease > MP->decrease > Attack > Magic > Skill > Item > Magnet > repeat
When her HP < 50%, she will cast her magic more frequently.
Recommended equipments
Sage’s Ring
White Mask
Ring of Renewal
Bubble Belt
Opal Ring
Now that you know her traits, you should at lest have the recommended equipment ( you can change as the battle progresses ). Try not to use any Holy based weapons – just use all ur most powerful ones. Since you will be slap with battle status ( check above )..you might want to kill her as fast as possible…try casting urself prior to entering the area…haste, brave, faith etc…
You can also try and use reverse and decoy, sometimes it helps but i didn’t use this method when i fought her.
Dispel her and watch out for reflect magic cast on ur team…

it can be found in Location: Dalmasca Westersand / Shimmering Horizons during a sandstorm. Its the same place where you fought Earth Tyrant. Just go in and out of the area until there is a sandstorm. You can see it slowly lingering in these are.

I don’t know if this is true but if you fight a monster at level one you may get 500 exp, but fight him at greater lvl lets say 50 you get 100 exp, so the higher your level the less exp you get from previous enemies.

to those who currently fighting yiazmat
these are the gambits i used on yiazmat.. its up to you if you will follow them or not.
Ally status KO= Phoenix Down
Ally status KO= Arise (just in case you dont have any left)
Self MP 10%= Charge
Self= Haste
Self= Float
Self= Bubble (no need if you have bubble belt)
Self= Reverse
Foe= Expose (deactivate after hitting expose on yiazmat 10 times)
Foe= Attack
you dont need to maximize your level. lvl. 85-95 will do
and also you must have the best weapons, armour and access.
example: Masamune, Grand Helm, Windbreaker (reduce wind effects), genji gloves
(genji gloves really come in handy)

you can only get one fomalhaut in Lhusu Mines and if i am not mistaken, you can get it after the battle with the antlion.

Danjuro is a bit frustating for me too…took me a while to get it…basically u need to chain 20 Necrophobia and then wait for the rare monster Larvae Eater to appear around the teleport area XIII or XIV, check the rare monster guide and maps below

and you will know when there are 2 overlapping chest…one of them should be excalibur…if not just go back a few screen for the treasure to reset and try again.

tournesol is still the best i must say. 4-10 combos (5%-95%) next is zodiac spear and excalibur that deals holy damage.
Warning: Do not use excalibur or holy weapons to Yiazmat. Use dark or non-elemental weapons.

I’ve got one for purchase at the bazaar but it costs 250,000 gil. i really don’t wanna spend that much money on something that wouldn’t benefit me since i’ve only got 362,838 gil. Morbid Urn ( Carnopic Jar ) is a rare bazaar item that is not available anywhere else…( key item that makes monster drops Arcana ) – a must have when u want to unlock higher bazaar item/recipe
as for telekinesis, u can buy it from the “Secret Shop” in Nabudis…the same place that sell ether – check the special requesst section in the post above for the location map.

What the heck does ‘SHOES OF THE FEAD’ do? I’ve unlocked a whole bunch of bazaar stuff but the most puzzling is the ‘SHOES OF THE DEAD’.
By the way, Thanks for helping out. I’ve defeated Pyrlaster, Fafnir, Catoblepas,Wild Malboro and Piscodaemon ALL IN THE SPACE OF 3 1/2 HRS. Thanks to your walkthrough and hints. My characters are all in their early 60’s but i’m not really looking forward to acquiring Zodiark (my last esper), Omega and The Seer hunts. Zodiark handed me my ass on a plate even with careful strategising.
Could you tell me if my gambits are any good or if i need to change them. (Vaan and Basch – De-Buffers. Balthier and Ash – Buffers. Fran and Penelo – Healers. I only have one of each on the field at any one time.) I can practically put the controller down and watch them duke it out but they get whupped anyway. SIGH! Maybe i just need to level up. If that’s the problem, where’s the best place to level up?

Oh, by the way, I also possess some of the best weapons and armour in the game.
Weapons include – Golden axes, Excalibur, Ragnarok, Masamune and Dragon Whiskers.
Armour and Accessories include – Demon Shield, Genji Shield, Golden Skullcap, Circlet, Maximillian (Mirror mail for the quick switch in battle to reflect magic), Genji Gloves, Sage’s ring, Embroidered Tippet, Bubble belt and Cat-ear hood.
(I alternate between them depending on the enemy i’m fighting)
I know it sounds like i’m showing off here. But realy I’m not. I only want to know what i’m doing wrong for Zodiark to whup my ass so badly when i’ve got all that to keep me alive.

Shoes of the dead is actually Quasimodo Boots…since it’s a multiple loot recipe…u can get them each time u complete it’s recipe…
As for gambit, it will take special setup for different rare boss/ hunts and esper…try to know their weakness and built ur gambit around them…personally i always change my setup on the go ( pause )…and higher lvl can help but there are those who completed these bosses on lower lvl…so it’s ur choice
don’t worry about bragging, until Sony implement the trophies system then it hard to tell people what u have achieved…and congrats again on ur achievements

zodiark is really a tough asshole..
remember strategy is the most essential part in battle.
tip:
keep on attacking until his HP goes down to half. after that use your quickenings (you need to be very quick or else he’ll cast paling and magicshield); don’t blow the chance of getting 12-15 hits, he’ll get his ass burned or in critical after those consecutive quickenings.
that’s what i did when i fought him, and it kinda worked.. hehehe

Prepare your best gambits!! do not use cure, use reverse and you’ll be alive!

I think you can unlock Gilgamesh petition once you open the additional area in Lhusu Mines…
The magic pot is not invincible but he’s tough cookie to beat…the only motivation to kill them is for the high LP that it gives you…

To make Fafnir get Sap and Slow at the same time, equip Nihapaloa Accesory, and give him a remedy, helps a lot when you need to heal or revive.

site 3 keys is a part of Antlion hunt…once you finish the hunt and collect the reward..the site 11 key should be at the stated location…check the screenshot below

TO MAKE A TOURNESOUL YOU NEED OOOOONNNNLLLYYY 3 HIGH ARCANAS, BECAUSE WHEN YOU MAKE SERPENTARIOUS AND EMPERIAL SOUL MAKE EM TOGETHER AND USE ONE HIGH ARCANA, also it took me only 1 hour and 25 minutes to get all my items for Gemsteel, wasnt as hard asp people said it would be, also i got my hell gate flames, (i needed 4 because i had 1 gemsteel) with chains lower than 30, in about 50 min i got 5 hell gates flmaes only though i needed 4, i got one when i killed one when i was going to save the game. In the feywood there is only one save crystal, so save there and go to the cerberus location right above the save crystal and take a right you should see one or more cerberuses there, thats’ where i got mine. then go back 2 screens and back up. I noticed that after many times going out and in of the area there would be one or more less cerebruses every time, until there were 0, only the wolves, when i went out and entered again there was like ten of them. maybe it is just my imagintaion and the numbers were the same all the time:()

the up bottom won’t work, i opened it and tried to fix it, but everytime i turn on the game the up button wont work so i unplugged the controller and pulg it in it worked like that for a while, but now it doesnt work at all, so i am guessing the problem is in the wire:(

you need to have at least 10 espers and completed the MindFlayer Mob Hunt. Once you have meet these 2 requirements, travel to “the Land of Garif” – speak to the Geomancer. He will then sent someone to open up the door for you.

Hell Wyrm is not that hard – he just have very high HP…but having high Level could help fasten the battle.
You should be ok if ur team is around 50-60…and try not to use bow/gun unless ur ok with long battle..

1st, i have clear out 78 rare games (another 2 must wait until Reddas pass away right?).
2nd, Got fight with Lv99 Chocobo (very hell judgement to wait for it spawn).
3rd, All xx chicken event.
4th, All sword, All greatsword but not including Ragnarok & Wyrmhero Blade (must wait for the bill after Reddas X right?). All katana, inclide 2 Masamune. All ninja sword. All dagger. All hammer & axes. All measure. All mace but not include Grand mace. All spear, only “1″ Zodiac Spear ( miss 1 at Nabudis & just 0.1% in Barhiem Passage but i took 1). All pole. All rod & staff but not Staff of the Magi bcoz of Hunt. All bow, gun, crossbow & hand-bombs. All arrow, bullet, bolt (not for sap) & bomb.
5th, All armor (maybe only). All Heavy armor & light armor including Grand Armor & Helm, All shield incude 1 Zodiac Escutcheon “only” (1.5% can get?? my god) & 2 Ensanguined Shield (miss 1 at Part of Balfonheim bcoz before i dont know there got 1 but saved already TT_TT)
6th, Small event (hope fully not include after Reddas X ) but can i know about the stairS at Migelo’s storehouse? for the right 1 is go to the Garamsythe Waterway, but how if for the left 1? Is there shut forever? but at Garamsythe Waterway there got a locked stair i think it may toward the upper stair.
7th, All GF… ooo is Esper, not include water Esper bcoz must fight Cid 1st….
8th, See all action that character act with different weapon but sadly Vaan & Balthier just can perform 2 way punch but hav not kick when only equip shiled, maybe their these 2 punch action only create for beggining when Vaan & Balthier got locked & fight the pig. & Fishing event tat make the Gilgamesh 2nd time to appear for more better fish event & i had get the reward, now just lack Godslayerxxxxx & the xxx from the Omega xxx. Yeah it’s sound true when the whole game’s Strongest enemy can AWARD the Strongest weapon……… but i think the Wyrm Blade is just use for fun only for the game almost ending right? the other door is only accessible once during the storyline after that it’s sealed forever.
as for Gabrant, you need to performed all the quickening available, check the list below;
Inferno – Level 1 – 3 Times

Ragnarok,
The seer can be found at the last floor in the subterra. In order to unlock him you need to kill the Phoenix and completed the storyline on top of the ridorana tower. Once you do that the subterra area will be unlock via the main elevator.
There are 4 floors in the subterra area – Penumbra, Umbra, Abyssal and Unknown. In order to unlock each floor – you need to collect the Black Orbs dropped by monsters that u killed.
Each floor have 4 separate “Pedestal of Night” – one in each corner. Use the Black Orb to light each of them. A new floor will be open when you light them all. Do this on all the floor until the “Unknown” floor is available on the select option. You can travel back to the top to save the game ( recommended )
Once you travel down the Unknown – The Seers should be waiting for you there.
P.S – Ixion is also found in the Subterra area – somewhere between Umbra and Abyssal.

also had a pop at the Hell Wyrm. kicked his ass with ease! took sooooooooooo frigging long though! i was fighting him for about 1 and half hours!
am gonna level up before i do the last 3 marks though. think i should be about level 80 before i give them a pop!

Im having a problem getting Fafnir to come out. I never get the blizzard when i get there. what am i doing wrong?

Once you talk to Relj – then the hunt begins. Once you come out from Bur-Omisace and in Paramina Rift, you can see that a blizzard is already happening.
If you click on Fafnir Hunt image ( there is a map on how to get to Silverflow’s End – Just follow the marked path in order to maintain the blizzard ) Fafnir should be waiting for you there.
If there is no blizzard in Silverflow’s End – just go back and talk to Relj to start the blizzard again. Just make sure you follow the correct path.
* PS – it is also said that you need to acquire the treaty blade to unlock this petition.

there would be a scene before the ancient door…as for shadowseer…you need to complete the scene at ridorana ( top floor ) then the subterra area will be available via the elevator ( insted of going up – there is an option to go down to the subterra area )…there are 4 floors – to unlock each floor you need to fill all 4 alter with the black orb.
P.S – Ixion hunt is also found in subterra area.

there is 2 chest…you can open twice – exclabur is usually on the one on the bottom…in case there’s only one chest, trying going back a few screens and let the chest reset itself and try again…

This is the first Final Fantasy that I’ve done by myself (well most of it). I’ve found most of the treasures and secrets by luck. I’m at the last bit of the game (before getting on the Bahamut), so I’m just finishing off the hunts, espers, leveling up and so forth. Does anyone know if you keep doing the running race with Rikken, will you eventually start getting decent prizes or will it just keep giving you potions? I’m at race 50-ish and I’m getting bored of doing it.

Gilgamesh bill will be unlock once you complete the Draklor Lab stage and have fought Antilion hunt ( need site 11 key – found in Phon Coast – refer to the top of this post for the exact location map for the key )

Ther eis 2 location where you can get it;
1. If you have resist opening the dedicated chest. The spear can be obtain north of Salikawood save crystal ( right after defeating the King Bomb )
2. or you can try your luck by opening the treasure chest in Henne Mines Phase 2 Dig…however the treasure is random and have a chances rate of 0.01%

- i highly suggest that you save before you fight him cause he can be a bad ass.
As for the shield – it depends…personally i only have 1 character that uses a shield and i prefer demon shield due to its high level of evasion compared to Venetian…unless you are person that collect them all….like most of us

which would be the quickest and the best way to kill Trickster. i also need to know a east way to do the Belito hunt because the people you have to fight are a pain in the ass. for the rare game the wood toad well i can’t find it at all and i’ve look over 50 times in the spot its suppose to be and there has been no luck. i also need to know a good weapon to us for Baither.

he’s a slick bugger – when i fought him, i change most of my characters with long range weapons due to his speed of dodging attacks.
Belito
this hunt require you to have a slightly higher level for your team…unless you can’t wait, i suggest you take the shortest route as possible ( Enter Zertinan caves through the entrance in
Ogir-Yensa Sandsea/Central Junction ) However, to do so, you still need to access 2/3 of the map to push all the boulder blocking you path..your best bet is to level up or just put some bubble pelt and just run as fast as you can to Belito path. It works for me
Wood Toad
the exact location would be the tiny dead end on the top of the map ( area before Necrohol Nabudis ) – he’s semi transparent…and will randomly appear.
As for Baltier – personally i used his default weapon most of the time unless i have to fight strong enemies – then i would equip him with a sword.

To unlock Omega – all you need to do is unlockand accept Yiazmat Bill.
He’s one badass boss – he is immune to most status. He is also weak to one element at a time and absorb the rest…he has tons of passive abilities like Defend , Resist Damage, Half MP, Counter etc…
The good thing is, he tend to target 1 character at a time – usually one closes to him. Not like Yiazmat – his health will fully generate if you run away from the battle ( not recommended )
TIPS – try to use reverse on all characters ( attack will replenish ur HP – just don’t heal urself )

Nabudis is an optional area – my recommendation would be level 40 – 50. The best way to know is to enter the area and fight a few monsters…if you find your self getting pounded! then you need to level up some more…
Monster Lvl in this area are around 40 -50

do you know if that you get all the loot in the game then sell it you get some weird weapon because i read it somewhere but i’m not sure about it. well thanks for the other help. one more thing is it true that you can find 16 chests in the Necrohol of Nabudis in a room or is that just a saying because i know theres 16 chests on the Phon Coast but i got confused about it when someone said that there were 16 chests in the Nectohol of Nabudis so i need to know if its true or not and supposably it has something to do with the zodiac spear.

yes, there are 16 chest in the same room where you fought one of the 2 optional bosses …it’s either that or in chaos room…( you will need to complete the medallion for chaos esper sidequest )
and don’t worry, these chest are not the one you need to avoid.

I just got ragnarok and now need to know how to get ultima blade. I got a gnoma haclyon, 2 death powder and 2 admantites. I sold them all but it didn’t appear in the bazaar. Is there something else i have to do like sell them all at once?

There are various ways to do it but here’s how i did it,
Omega tends to attack character closes to him…so what i did was that i use reverse on my main 2 attacker and set my gambit to just attack…while i sit back and become a support…also set arise and berserk when possible.
TIPS
1. Equip strongest weapons ( try not to use elemental properties ) and best armor
2. Slash are better than range weapons and magic
3. Use bubble pelt if HP is not high enough
4. Make sure u have a decent back up team in case ur first team get wipe out
5. Save before fighting omega

The higher the better…if possible all of them,,,because Yiazmat can wipe ur team in an instant!
However, high level alone will not guarantees a win…you need persistence, good equipments, excellent strategy and a bucket load of luck.

ok welll.. ive been stuck on the fist floor trying to find ixion for like 3 days i own the guide.. and it srtill isn’t helping … i forgot how to use rhe black orbs
and your map for ixion isn’t wokign sends me to the main page.. :-/

You will notice that each floor have 4 corner rooms, you will find a pedestal inside each room. Just fill them up with the black orb until the room is completely lit. If you run out of orb, ust kill off some monsters.
If you have lit all four rooms, the next area will be opened via the lift.
As for Ixion, you probably find him on the 2nd floor ( outside ). If he doesn’t appear, just run around the area for a while until he does.
P.S – I have check the map and it works fine.

hey oniee.
just recently got the game and im hooked, but i need help.
i need help with defeating gilgamesh the second time. i wooped his ass the first time but after i found him the second time ( my average level was 47 ) i got my ass handed to me, as i couldnt get the genji armour and helm the first time i tried the second time and succeded but then after i got his dog down to critical i turned to gilgamesh then a few minutes later he had full HP and killed me. Now my average level is 58-60 and im still not sure if i sould take him on again. Should I?
And also what stuff do you recommened that i should use as the strongest wepon i have is the deathbringer and golden axe. Any tips will be greatly appreciated

Dude. i just got my ass kicked by the monsters in subterra after i was looking for ixion, but i just had no luck as i walked about 20 steps and died. Then trying to look for the excaliber and ultima i got murdered by mum bombs and the stupid wyrm. i am level 58-60 any help guys. what wepons and armour should i get? these are my stats for my players if any of you know how to improve them please tell me.

balthier-60- cant remember the name of the gun but it has less than 50 attack points-windslicer shot-black mask-mirage vest-sage’s ring
fran-58-perceus bow-ice shot-white mask-dragon mail-bubble belt
basch-60-golden axe-demon shield-mages helm ( the one from the secret shop )- maximillion-bubble belt
ashe-58-save the queen-white mask-maximillion-renewing ring

please help me im i can’t finish any of the last four elite marks or get any good stuff or get the last two espers or do the good things in the game

no problem Haz,
I highly recommend that you level up at least to an 75 before you consider taking on Gilgamesh the 2nd time…he’s level 70 while Enkidu is 65
Bubble pelt is a must in this battle…and try to use at least 1 range weapon characters for support and healing
H e likes to cast sleep and disable…so be prepared…while maintaining protect and decoy on your main attacker.
P.S – Kill Enkidu first then go for Gilgamesh.
As for subterra area,
make sure you have high level of characters 65 …monsters in these area are tough and they gang up on you everytime…
Make sure you have range weapon attacker…and a master healer everytime…Bubble belt is a must have…
weapon of choice
Sagittarius Artemis Arrows
Fomalhaut stone shot
Ragnarok because the immobilize status
you can also use Ultima or WyrmHero if you have it
P.S – try fighting enemies near the elevator or door…because it will give you a chance to runaway in case you teams is wipe out.

hmmm? i defeated yiazmat w/ my 3 chars of lvl 80 and 3
fem with lvl 60 .. w/in 8hrs.. i run twice ahahaha!!
coz i dont know that there’s a guide hir on how to defeat yiazmat ..
i manually control my 3 chars (no gambits) cause i dont know wat
to put… *sigh* but after a long 8hrs i finally defeat him..

there are 2 ways to kill it;
EASY
1. Feed him an elixir/megalixir …he should now be vulnerable to attacks…just don’t forget to steal back the item you gave him.
HARD
2. Attack him with non elementals attack – telekinesis or throw gill should works

I think that you must have all the hunts complete to unlock the Yiazmat bill, because I have only 37 done, all the Espers(Zodiark is by far the easiest, Chaos is the hardest), and Hell Wyrm is defeated(26 minutes, 34 seconds) and the hunt is still not listed in Montblanc’s registry.
Answer back please with what I am missing.

yes – you need to kill Hell Wyrm and finish most of the hunt for the bill for Yiazmat to appear

Wow, that was a very quick reply. Also, I would like to note(this may have already been said, but my cpu is too slow to stay on this page for too long), Yiazmat’s HP does in fact regenerate after a certain amount of time. Now, I was wondering, does this only occur when you stay in his area for too long and will he not regenerate more HP if yo leave the area entirely, say teleport back to Rabanastre?
Another quick reply like your last one would be very beneficial.

Alright. I got it figured out. If you stay in his area too long, he will start regenerating hp at an etraordinary rate, about 300,000-500,000 a second. So if you re dying and you gotta go heal up, best to get out of the entire area as quickly as possible.

For all those wishing to beat Yiazmat, I beat him with all characters level 55-60, 3 hours. The trick is to start the battle with 60 Hi Ethers, 99 Ethers, and as many Megalixers as you can find(there are many deep within Henne Mines Special Charter dig). Once he gets down to 5 bars or so, he will start using nothing but physical attacks, Cyclone, and Death Strike in proportions close to 40:5:1(Physical:Death Strike:Cyclone). Have a gambit for Self > Reverse and disable ALL curing gambits. Have fun while his every attack heals you. Kepp your Arise gambits on for when he uses Death Strike and when he kills one member not under reverse. Other than that, you should be peachy. Enjoy.

final fantasy, in order for Yiazmat to appear, you gotta have all elite hunts done and hell wyrm defeated, he can then be accepted at Clan Centurio clanhouse and be found in the Ridorana Catarct Colosseum.
The strongest shield is the Zodiac Escutcheon in Crystal Grande Upper Layer.

Hey, great site, few quick questions. Im right about to board Bahamut, I wanted to go back and do some other stuff before finishing. But the npc for the Barheim key is not there, nor is Ruksel for the Fishing game? Am I gto far along in game to do these now or am I doing something wrong?

I have a good and easy way to get the dethbringer. O.K. so you have to go to the barheim passage, i recommend teleporting there the area is close to it. Then go to special Op sector 5. there will be a few enemies there take care of them them go back neer the end of the area you will see treasure. Ithuno (the enemy you get the deathbringer from) is sometimes in it. Steal from him enough until you get it. If he isn’t the go back to the teleport stone and save then go and try again.

Sorry to hear about the bug – i myself did not complete IZJS..however, here’s the answer to the 2 questions
Hastega – South Bank Village Merchant
Holy – Balfonheim Port Magic Store
Both of them are available when you completed the Ridorana story event.
Magic Pot is a tough nut to crack…and there are 2 common method to deal with them. first, remember to disable all offensive gambit before approaching them.
Easy Method – just give them an elixir when they asked for it. Doing so will turn them vunerable to all attacks – just remember to steal back the elixir before killing them
Hard method – since they absorb all elementals attack – avoid them including weapons enhancement. first cast expose ( lower Def ) and then use non elementals like telekenisis / 1000 needles / gils throw etc…it will take some time and probably you will die on constantly…so make sure arise heal are activated

i.m looking for the shadowseer
i’m at ridorana and have unlocked penumbra, umbra, abyssel and unknown however when ever i try to travel to unknow i get a massage saying:
The dais returns to its original floor under
power of some mysterious force.
i’ve beat three of its companion’s during the story do i need to find the last one(a bird monster)before i can face him.
please help anyone

yes you have to defeat the pheonix before you find him but once u find the seer u have to beat all four of his minions again so be prepared for a long exstensive battle anarkzie but being equiped with curaja and arise and any legendary weapons u have will work so good luck and hack away also stay out of trouble for penelo’s sake…also have characters up to at least lvl 70 or above will help dramatically as well

1. Treasure chest in Cerobi Steppe/ Crossfield

when you completed the event on top of the Pharos…return to the first are when you enter Pharos ( easier due to the save crystal )…there will be an elevator going down to the subterra area.
1-Penumbra ( Ixion – random )
2- Umbra ( Ixion – random )
3.Abyssal ( Ixion – random )
4.?? ( seers )
you will need to light up the pedestal with orbs to unlock the next floor. Just be careful, the monsters here are tough and they will mob you without mercy. I suggest you stick around near the elevator/doors so that you can quickly run away from them. Good Luck

there’s 2 ways to kill the magic pot
easier way
first, disable any attacking gambit then feed the magic pot with an elixir…once done you can attack the magic pot normally…just make sure you steal the elixir back from it
harder way
the magic pot is immune to all kind of attack and absorb all elementals attacks…so the best way is to use you skill like telekinesis, gil throw, traveler..etc
i suggest you go with the first method…once comfortable, you can give the 2nd option a go!…good luck!

i’m assuming that you are hunting for Fafnir in the Paramina Rift? if you are just click on the image for the exact map to make him appear.
Not sure about the 2nd Q – are you talking about Mt Bur-Omisace pedestal? – you need the equip the dawn shard to unlock the next path.
or, are referring to the black orb in Pharos? I can’t remember how many are needed or is it at random. However, the enemies here will quickly level up your characters – so i suggest you spend time killing them while collecting these orb
